About the Role
Platform Science is seeking a Software Engineer to join our Video team. In this role, you will maintain and enhance our existing video product, a critical component of our platform. You will directly contribute to the stability, performance, and evolution of a core offering, driving innovation and increasing operational efficiency. Your work will directly impact road safety for our customers, making a difference in their daily operations.
Essential Responsibilities
- Maintain our existing Video solutions to ensure our customers have a great experience
- Evolve our Video offering developing new features to attend the global market’s expectations
- Apply software engineering best practices, guaranteeing the deliverables’ stability, performance and quality
- Lead the design and architecture of complex software systems
- Create scalable and maintainable solutions, ensuring resilience and fault tolerance
- Partner with Product and Business leadership to translate complex business goals into feasible technical strategies
- Identify opportunities for technological improvements and innovation
- Lead and mentor engineers on projects
- Drive the coding standards and security practices across the company
- Communicate technical concepts to non-technical team members
- Optimize performance and scalability of software systems
Required experience
- Communicate effectively in English (verbal and written)
- Advanced API software development experience with Kotlin / Java or similar
- Web application development frameworks (Springboot)
- UI software development experience with React, Angular or similar
- Relational database (Postgres, MySQL, etc)
- Cloud software development (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- CI/CD, Docker, and Kubernetes
- Test Automation (Unit and Integration)
- Event-Driven systems and Streaming technologies (Kafka, RabbitMQ, etc)
Will be considered a plus
- Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform or similar)
- Holistic quality assurance (End-to-End, Performance, etc.)
- Non-relational databases (ElasticSearch, MongoDB, Redis)
